We've come back to the isolated beach that we love and after a bit of a shuffle we have a place to stay as long as we are here. The obstacle this time is that we're on the top of a hill! Literally, we're both huffing and puffing after the climb. The view is amazing and since we're on the east side of the island, I hope to sit on the porch and see the sunrise!
We were supposed to have a bungalow just off the beach, which we had reserved, but in the informality of business operations here, there was a "mistake" and someone else got the room. We were annoyed-well, Lewis was more than annoyed because he had picked that specific cabin the day before. The locals hate conflict, but Lewis was calm, cool and collected as he discussed ot with one of the owners for 45 minutes...really, I couldn't have done it. We ended up with this room upgrade (UP the hill, and a nicer room) and are paying less. It's working out fine, thankfully.
It's hard work getting a tan, but we're determined to succeed! The beach is white and sandy, the water is calm and clear, and it's easy to see why it's more crowded now than 3 years ago. All of the guest houses are adding more bungalows as fast as they can, and turning guests away every day because they are full!
